Kodi is an open sourced software designed to bring videos, music, games and photographs together in one easy-to-use app. However, third-party add-ons for the software allow users to access pirated content via the internet.

As such, the sale of boxes preloaded with third-party add-ons has become the subject of a legal case in Teesside.Personally, I can't see this going in any other way than in favour of the prosecution -- but then again -- I'm not lawyer.

But what will be interesting is how the courts are going to deal with people savvy enough to do it themselves. A quick google search and you are presented with numerous guides, videos and downloads.

The internet is still the Wild West of the modern age and it doesn't look like it's going to be tamed any time soon.
